How to Create Viral Short-Form Content for Your Listings (With a Simple Concept That’s Crushing It)
One of the best ways to maximize the value of every listing is by creating viral short-form content that builds buzz while the property is on the market.
Today, I’m going to share a simple but powerful content idea we recently tested, and the results have been amazing. This concept is super easy to replicate, and you can apply it to your next listing right away.
We’re skipping over the usual branded videos and fancy horizontal tours. Instead, we’re focusing on a quick, engaging short-form video that highlights the property in a fun, creative way.
The Inspiration Behind This Concept
While scrolling through Instagram (with intent, of course), we stumbled upon a clever video idea: a woman talks about being followed by her boss and then shares a series of photos showing how hard she works. It was fun, relatable, and highly shareable.
We thought—why not apply this same concept to a real estate listing?
The idea was simple: create a short video showing off the home using a series of creative snapshots, framed within a fun narrative.
How to Create This Viral Listing Video
This content requires minimal effort and equipment—just your phone and some creativity.
What You’ll Need:
One video clip (4-5 seconds)
At least four vertical photos highlighting different features of the house
Step 1: Film the Opening Clip
Use your front camera for this part.
Position the camera so you're looking away, then glance down as if you’ve just received a notification.
Swipe your hand across the screen to mimic scrolling through your phone.
This creates the illusion that you’re flipping through photos on your phone screen.
Step 2: Capture the Photos
Switch to your back camera and set it to the 0.5x wide-angle mode.
Stand in front of key features you want to showcase (e.g., the front of the house, the backyard, the master bedroom, etc.).
Hold the phone at arm’s length, facing you, and use the volume down button to snap the picture.
In our example, we highlighted:
The front of the house
The spacious backyard
A playful shot in the primary bedroom (“where the magic happens”)
The vaulted ceilings in the living room
Step 3: Add Captions and Personality
Get creative with the captions! Highlight unique features or make playful jokes to keep the video engaging. This adds personality and helps the property stand out.
The Results? Stunning.
We published this video on Tuesday afternoon, and after just 21 hours, here’s how it performed:

Why This Works
This concept blends creativity with simplicity. It feels organic and authentic, which resonates on social platforms. Plus, it showcases the home in a unique way that stands out from standard listing videos.
