How To Film A Viral Video In Just 3 Minutes
We just filmed a new listing that’s hitting the market in about a week with a video concept that’s simple for you to replicate and has the potential to go viral.
Not only that, but it can be filmed in under five minutes—and that is reason enough to try it out for your next listing. The inspiration came from a popular Postmates video.
Watch the video below for both the original video and my version:
When I saw the Postmates clip, I realized it was the perfect opportunity to adapt the idea to real estate marketing. Our version starts out in a similar way, but our tip is the down payment you need to buy this specific condo.
Here’s how we pulled it off—and how you can do it, too.
Subtle Space Highlighting
One of the key elements of this video is how we subtly highlight the living space without making it obvious.
Watch closely: we shot the video with me in the kitchen and the videographer positioned in the living room. As the scene progresses, he slowly steps back, revealing more of the space.
This is a great hack for showing off a home’s layout without using jump cuts or b-roll footage. It feels seamless and keeps the viewer engaged while still giving them a sense of the space. The best part? Most viewers won’t consciously notice they’re being shown the home—they’ll just feel like they’re part of the story.
Storytelling That Guides the Viewer Through the Home
The storyline in the video adds a natural flow to the tour. I invite someone into the home, and as we move through the space to give him the “tip” (the money), we organically showcase key areas of the condo.
For example:
On the way to the bedroom, I casually point out the laundry area and mention the balcony.
As he stops to check out the bathroom, I take the opportunity to pull out the money.
Finally, the journey ends in the bedroom, tying the story together while giving viewers a full sense of the property.
This narrative approach makes the video feel less like a traditional walkthrough and more like a compelling short story that happens to highlight the home.
Quick, Effective, and Attention-Grabbing
Here’s what I love most about this concept: it’s incredibly efficient. We shot the entire video in just three minutes, and the final product is under one minute long (about 52 seconds).
This brevity is key. It captures attention quickly, delivers value to the viewer, and keeps them watching until the end. Considering how well the original Postmates video performed, I have no doubt this one will crush, too.
