The 60-Second Video Strategy That Gets More Views & Shares
Sixty seconds. That’s all it took to film this viral listing video.
And while we put time and effort into creating high-quality, branded listing content, we’re also focused on something even more valuable: building a content library that keeps marketing the house for at least two months.
The video I’m about to show you is one of the easiest to replicate—and one you should absolutely try for your next listing.
We call it the “Viral Gasp Reveal.”
Where the Idea Came From
The inspiration? A travel video.
I came across a group of travelers showcasing jaw-dropping European destinations with a simple, yet brilliant filming technique. It immediately clicked—this is something we could easily apply to our next listing video.
So, we tested it out on one of our listings. And the results? Game-changing.
I’ve embedded their video in ours so you can see exactly what I mean.
Now, let’s break it down so you can replicate it for your next listing.
Step 1: The Hook (a.k.a. “The Gasp”)
The key to this video’s success is the reaction shot—before the house is even revealed.
Here’s why it works:
✅ It builds curiosity. When viewers see you reacting before they see the home, they naturally want to stick around to find out why.
✅ It humanizes the video. People connect with faces and emotions, which helps drive engagement.
✅ It’s ridiculously easy to film. You don’t need fancy gear—just a phone and good lighting.
How to Shoot It
Set up your phone. Use an iPhone (or any smartphone), switch to 0.5x ultra-wide mode, and use the front-facing camera.
Grip your phone low. Make sure no fingers are covering the lens.
Start with the camera above your head. Bring it down slowly in front of your face.
React naturally. Drop your jaw like you just saw the most insane feature of the house.
Flip the wrist to reveal the home. Hold the camera steady for at least two seconds so the viewer gets a clear shot.
Step 2: Hold Each Scene for at Least Two Seconds
This is a small but critical detail.
If you cut too quickly, the viewer doesn’t get enough time to actually see what you’re showing them. Every reveal should be at least two seconds long—long enough for the audience to take in the space.
🔹 Too fast = Lost impact
🔹 Just right = A moment to appreciate the wow factor
Step 3: Shoot Multiple Parts of the House
One reaction shot is great. But if you want to maximize engagement, film multiple jaw-dropping features.
Aim for at least four different reveals to create a 16-second video.
Some ideas:
✔️ Grand entryway
✔️ Epic kitchen
✔️ Spa-like primary bath
✔️ Insane backyard or view
This entire video takes less than 60 seconds to film, making it an easy (and fun) one to add to your listing video library.
Now It’s Your Turn
Try it out, and tag me in your versions on Instagram. I’d love to see them!
And if you have any questions, drop them in the Community section of our Sold on Social Media Skool. I’m always happy to break it down even further.
This is one of the easiest, most effective listing videos you can create. Don’t overthink it—just start filming.
